The town Te Anau offers a range of services to visitors and is the closest base to the Milford Sound. The other township, Manapouri is a peaceful and quiet spot. This is home to the deepest lake in New Zealand, Lake Manapouri. The town has a stunning landscape including native bushlands and the Cathedral Mountain range.
