Renwick
RENWICK ACTIVITIES AND TRAVEL | Renwick Information
Renwick is a small town in the Marlborough region of the South Island, New Zealand. It is located 12 kilometres west of Blenheim and 31 kilometres north of Havelock.
Renwick is a wine country, where you can hire a bike and cycle from one vineyard to the next. Many of the wineries offer wine tasting and have the option of lunch and dinner. 85% of New Zealand's Sauvignon Blanc is grown there and Pinot Noir is the region's other specialty.
Renwick is smaller and slower-paced, and home to many beautiful country bed and breakfasts, cottages and various other types of accommodation scattered around the district.
You can choose to see the beauty of Renwick and surrounding locations from horse-back on a number of tours. A two-day ride can take you out to the Cape Campbell lighthouse. Renwick is also home to two art galleries and a number of artists who enjoy the quiet and the beautiful countryside.
Renwick History
There is evidence that grapes were planted in the district as early as 1870, but it was only in the 1970s that the Marlborough experience burst into life.
