Otorohanga is a service town at the southern end of the Waikato region in the North Island, New Zealand. It is located 53 kilometres south of Hamilton and 18 kilometres north of Te Kuiti.
Otorohanga is the gateway to many adventure towns you can easily travel to the Waitomo Caves and go rafting and cave abseiling or experience the stunning Kawhia Harbour. You can also take time out to relax as Otorohanga has a fine choice of cafes, shops and accommodation.
The main street of the town features a parade of 'kiwiana' displays, which represent New Zealand; visitors can see displays from All Blacks and Aunt Daisy to farm dogs and Pavlova. There is also a number of kiwiana murals painted on the town's buildings.

Otorohanga is home to The Kiwi House, an iconic feature of New Zealand. There you can see real a Kiwi, as well as several other native birds in a home imitated to their natural habitat.

Otorohanga History
In 1986, Otorohanga briefly changed its name to 'Harrodsville'. This was in protest to a restaurateur, Henry Harrod, who was being made to change the name of his restaurant following threatening lawsuits from the owner of Harrods's department store in London.
