Bulls

Bulls is a little town near Palmerston North on the west coast of the North Island, New Zealand. It is in a booming farming area in the Rangitikei District at the junction of State Highways 1 and 3 around 160 kilometres north of Wellington.

Bulls has a fine selection of places to eat and a choice of upmarket shops and cafes, arts, giftware, antiques and unique shops.

All through the town, there's signage that capitalises on Bulls' unique name, such as a Police Station called Consta-bull, Anglican Church called Forgive-a-bull and medical centre called Cure-a-bull.

Bulls History

The town is named after James Bull, who founded the town and owned the first general store. The town was originally called Bull Town, but then renamed to Clifton and then changed back to Bulls because of the influence of Sir William Fox.
