YHA Oamaru - Oamaru, New ZealandThis small, traditional and homely hostel is located close to the Bushy Beach Scenic Reserve and just minutes from the town centre. During Summer, stay a few days in this friendly and welcoming hostel and experience all that Oamaru has to offer. Relax and unwind in garden or in front of the log fire in the evenings.
Oamaru is the place to see little Blue and Yellow Eyed penguins, both of which congregate within easy walking distance from the hostel. Oamaru has a magnificent collection of Victorian era white stone buildings, including a museum and art gallery. Browse the market or try a stream train, sample award winning cheeses or visit the Aquatic Centre and public gardens. Only 30 minutes drive to Moeraki Boulders and the Waitaki Valley - home to the “Vanished World” fossil trail.
