If you're looking for somewhere that is central, quiet, clean, and deceptively big - with possibly one of the best locations in town (second only to the Cathedral itself) then you've found us! We aren't so much of a party place, but if you're looking for a comfy bed and a good nights sleep to rest and re-fuel for a night on the town (located only an 8 minute walk away) then Thomas's Hotel is ideal. However, if big nights out aren't your thing, the NZ Best Pub of the Year (2006 & 2009) is a 20 second casual stride away... you see Thomas's Hotel is right across the road from the celebrated Dux de Lux, just like Christchurch's Art Centre or the Art Gallery (that's just around the corner). Or how about the Botanical Gardens, that's a mere stone's throw away.
We have everything a goood budget backpackers/hotel should offer - including a large kitchen with everything suppiled, 2 lounges, 14 communal bathrooms and also a very fat cat who has been known to sneak into peope's rooms and eat a side of salmon, (sorry about that Mrs Renolds, but you did leave the window open). Yes that's right, we even supply windows in all our rooms.
We have 6 different room types on offer, from dorm beds right though to full ensuite hotel rooms and everything inbetween. We also have a dashing and debonair Night Manager.
So in short Thomas's = a good nights sleep, great location, well appointed rooms all of this at a good price thats as charming as its surroundings.

Location / DirectionsIntercity coach stops on Worcester Street. Walk down this street, thru Cathedral Square and across the Avon River. At Montreal Street, turn left, then right onto Hereford Street. Approx 800 metres.
Most shuttle coach services do drop off/pick up at door.
LATE ARRIVALS- We can arrange a meet and greet for you at the airport. We require full flight details for this and you pay the driver direct at $40nzd for 2 people. They will supply you with the key to gain entry to the hotel and your room. |
