Overview Kates Place is a small homestay and backpackers in Martinborough, one of New Zealands premier wine growing areas. Cosy and homely the house has 2 bunk rooms with 4 beds in each as well as a double room. Each of these rooms has its own bathroom. Kates Place is in the heart of Martinborough within walking distance of the shops, cinema, most wineries and the boutique brewery. Its a great place to use as a base to explore the beautiful Wairarapa region.

Location / DirectionsMartinborough is an hour by train from the centre of Wellington, New Zealand's capital. The train stops at Featherston where buses meet the train and will take you the ten minute trip to Martinborough. The bus driver will generally drop you at the door.
By car it is approximately 1 hour 15 from Wellington, 2 hours from Palmerston North and 3 hours from Hawkes Bay. Take the main Wairarapa Road and Martinborough is well signposted from Featherston, Greytown and Carterton. |
