YHA Opoutere - Opoutere, New ZealandThis homely hostel set in bush and gardens with great views of the estuary and ocean is a must for those wanting some peace and tranquility. Trampoline, badminton, volleyball and free canoes to paddle the estuary.
Family cabins available. A DOC ranger is onsite between Sept & Feb. Learn about the Dotterel Bird Recovery Programme.

Opoutere is one of the last remaining undeveloped coastal areas on the Coromandel Peninsula and still close to main centres. Bush walks are nearby and beach swimming, canoeing, fishing, seafood & shell gathering are possible in the estuary and ocean. Relax and breathe in the beauty.
