Hey Seth,
My mates and I went to Ski Lake Wanaka this winter and it was amazing it has some world-class ski resorts in the area. The Remarkables is meant to be really good as well, you can ski and snowboard there.
Cheers,
David

Cheers David, Thanks for the tip, I've just been looking into The Remarkables and Ski Lake Wanaka and it looks like it's gonna be hard to choose between the two. But I think Ski Lake Wanaka might be the way to go.

Hi there, when talking sking in the South island you cant go past coronet peak and remarkables, these two spots rule. Also try cardrona and treble cone these are for intermidate to advanced riders but out of the four i would choose remarkables and coronet peak if you are a beginner as they are alot easyier mountains to ride.

Yes i would definately suggest treble cone and cardrona for all you expierenced riders out there. It is about 1.5 hours form Queentown opposed to the 30 to 45 minute drive to remarkables and coronet peak which are very easy mountains to ride.
Enjoy your trip to New Zealand peak season for the snow usualy is about July August. Have fun!

Hi there, i have done plenty of snowboarding in my time and would have to say that choosing a mountain really depends on your ability.
Coronet Peak and The remarkables at queenstown would have to be my favourite. Dont get me wrong Treble Cone and cardrona are great.
Honestly if you are going to the south island for snow i think you have made the right decision. The south island has plenty of variety when it comes to the snow.
But remember if you purchase a lift pass at coronet peak it will be valid at remarkables and if you get a remarkables lift pass you can board at coronet peak.
Hope this helps you out, for more information click the SKI RESORTS tab on this site and get as much information as you could need.
