You're in for an intense culinary experience. Travel Wellington with your entertaining and knowledgeable guide, where tasting and sampling is the name of the game!

Our small group tour is limited to eight guests per tour, and you'll discover the foodie's delights of this vibrant, compact city as we take you behind the scenes to places off the traditional tourist route.

Wellington is New Zealand's coffee capital so it makes sense to start at the very beginning - a green coffee bean which neither looks nor smells like the end result! Understand coffee roasting and try some interesting coffees and iconic cafe food before continuing on your tour.

Next you will explore some of Wellington's wonderful food stores as we walk, talk and savour. You'll sample some local specialties and talk with some passionate, dedicated food professionals. We'll take you to places you probably wouldn't find by yourself, places where the locals go. You'll love the fresh food stores, where chefs and foodies shop. Find bakery products, fresh seafoods, produce, meats and deli products, cheeses galore and lots of wonderful specialty food in jars.

Finish with a delicious three-course tasting-style lunch with carefully matched regional wines at a top Wellington restaurant or cafe!

This experience is available Monday - Saturday all year round, excluding public holidays, and is subject to availability. Your gourmet walking tour starts at 9.30am and finishes at 1.30pm. Please arrive at 9.20am so we can leave on time.

Experience Participants

The price quoted is for one person. There will be a minimum of two and a maximum of eight people in the group. We keep the group small to encourage maximum interaction with your guide and other tour participants.

Participant Guidelines

This gourmet walking tour is suitable for adults who are interested in food and wine! Please let us know in advance if you have special dietary needs. We walk at a strolling pace, so it's perfect for participants of almost any fitness level.

Participant Dress Code

You will visit a restaurant at the conclusion of the tour, so we recommend wearing smart but casual clothing. You should also wear comfortable shoes for walking on city streets.
