This tour is the perfect country escape for Wellington city folk. Wairarapa is a scenic wine growing and farming region that offers visitors to Wellington a range of activities to suit all tastes. Don't forget to bring a camera to capture a lasting memory of your adventure!
The tour starts with a pick up from your central city accommodation between 8:15am and 8:45am. Then you will have a short morning briefing before heading north to follow the Hutt River to its beginnings in the Rimutaka Mountains. A 60 minute drive over the hill will bring the tour to Patuna Farm.
Here you will have to the opportunity to visit the Patuna Farm Adventure Centre in the morning, where you can choose from a leisurely horse trek, an adrenaline filled high ropes experience or the latest outdoor innovation ‘Golfcross’. The group will then stop for lunch at one of Martinborough's fantastic eateries.
After lunch the tour follows one of the Wairarapa's most beautiful river valleys, to visit a local vineyard before stopping in at the Martinborough Wine Centre for a tasting or afternoon tea. You adventure concludes as you are returned to Wellington via the Rimutaka Hill at around 5pm. After such a big adventure you will be ready for a cool drink and a hot spa back at your hotel.
