The Kawarau River Whitewater Rafting Challenge is the perfect tour for travellers new to the area and whitewater rafting. With a more gentle but still exhilirating course, you will have time to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings, before plunging through the river rapids.
Your adventure begins as you arrive on location of the magnificent Shotover River. Here you will meet you friendly and experienced guide, and receive a briefing on the safety and precautions taken during the experience. Once you've donned a lifejacket and helemt, you'll be ready to put you paddle to use.
The four rapids on the Kawarau River are exciting and the scenery is superb. Between rapids you will experience calmer stretches of river, with a unique perspective of the historic Kawarau Bungy Bridge as your raft passes under it. The Grande Finale is the unforgettable 400 metre Dog Leg Rapid to end your trip on New Zealand’s largest volume commercially rafted river.
