A 1 hour 45 minute cruise around the fiord highlights the many water falls taking you up close to these magnificent land formations.
Travel from Queenstown following the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu past the dramatic peaks of The Remarkables mountain range, snow-capped in winter.
Pause for morning tea (own arrangements) in Te Anau known as the "Gateway to Fiordland". As you drive down Milford Road, enjoy some of the most stunning scenery to be found anywhere in the world towering snow-capped mountains, magnificent rainforests and spectacular waterfalls. Photograph stops along the way.
Before descending into Milford Sound, travel through Homer Tunnel carved through the solid rock of a mountain. Join your 1 hour 45 minute cruise taking you past Mitre Peak which rises from the ocean floor to its peak 1 mile above sea level. View the spectacular Bowen waterfall cascading down its huge rock face. Look out for dolphins, seals and penguins that live in this wonderful location. A picnic lunch is included on the cruise.
