A two day tour from Queenstown to Christchurch via the West Coast. Features include: Haast Pass, Westland and Arthur's Pass National Parks, West Coast rainforests, a visit to the Franz Josef glacier and the world renowned TranzAlpine scenic railway.
Prices are per person and includes: Pick up from your Queenstown hotel/motel, coach travel, one night's accommodation, shuttle to the glacier car park, and the TranzAlpine Train.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Queenstown - Franz Josef Glacier
Leaving Queenstown travel to the West Coast passing through Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea before climbing over the Haast Pass into the Westland National Park. The Haast Pass is our southern-most pass that traverses the Southern Alps linking the east coast with the west coast. Arrive into Franz Josef at 4.10pm, you will be taken to your accommodation. At 4.45 pm you will be transferred to the Glacier Carpark where you can take a short walk to the glacier lookout point (this walk is not guided).
Accommodation: Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier, Bella Vista Motel or similar.
Day 2 -Franz Josef - Christchurch
Travel north through lush rainforests and spectacular scenery to Greymouth where you transfer on to the world famous TranzAlpine train. A remarkable journey of little more than four hours from the west coast to the east coast including the lush rainforest of the Arthur's Pass National Park. Pass through the Southern Alps via the Otira Tunnel, cross massive viaducts over the Waimakariri Gorge descending to the fertile farmlands of the Canterbury Plains and on to the garden city of Christchurch where you arrive at 6.15pm.

GUIDELINES
Infants under 2 years free of charge (using existing bedding and not occupying a seat).
Children 12 years and under, who share a room with two adults travel at 50% of the adult twin share rate.
For one adult and one child the adult pays the twin share rate and the child pays 80% of that price.
DRESSCODE / WHAT TO BRING
You will receive a detailed itinerary, explaining your schedule. After starting the tour you are taken to your accommodation each night and picked up from there every morning.
OTHER
The tours are not escorted group tours - they are for independent travellers. What this means is that it is not the same group of people travelling on their own coach with a tour leader/escort looking after you. You are travelling independently.
You travel on scheduled coach/train services. These depart every day.You are picked up from and dropped off at your accommodation each morning and evening. No meals are included in the tour price however stops are made throughout the day where food can be purchased.
If after your booking has been confirmed you wish to cancel, the following cancellation fee's will apply:
* For cancellation up to 7 days prior to travel - loss of deposit
* For cancellations 7 days - 48 hours prior to travel 50% of total fare.
* For cancellations within 48 hours prior to travel 100% of total fare.
All tours may be extended or amended, provided that these arrangements are made more than 15 days prior to departure. Amendments will icur a fee of NZ$50 per change of file. Amendments within 15 days of travel will also incur additional fees in accordance with the policies of the suppliers.
If travelling alone on an Independent Tour, you must pay the single room - per person costs advertised.

If your voucher has already expired and you contact us within 30 days of its expiry, we can extend it for an administration fee of $30.00 per month / per voucher (one month only).
If your voucher has already expired and you contact us more than 30 days after the expiry of your voucher, the voucher cannot be extended.
