Mountain Bike Adventure ? 2 Days (MDA054) : Gift Voucher

Mountain Bike Adventure ? 2 Days - Bike & SkateSearching for a mountain bike expedition like no other? Ride remote 4WD trails in the heart of the volcanic plateau with amazing downhill tracks with stunning views of the Tongariro. Enjoy a night in the bush at a riverside cabin and continue riding the next morning along the 42 Traverse!

Description

We can pick you up from Rotorua at 7am or from Taupo at 8.30am. You will meet your guide and travel through the heartland of the volcanic plateau. We climb into the mountains and our base destination on the outskirts of Tongariro National Park.

Meeting our 4WD guides, we are given a quick cup of tea and an energy bar while we pack your overnight gear into the 4WDs, and begin fitting bikes. You are welcome to bring your own bike, helmet and spds (cycle shoes with cleats), however, we will gladly supply a good quality suspension bike and helmet for those requiring it. Keen fitness riders are able to ride the first monster of a mountain. Everyone else can load their gear into the 4WD?s and head to the 20km downhill ride. We reunite, check the bikes and set off!

Don?t worry if you are a beginner, as we will give you a short introduction on proper downhill mountain bike technique and you will be monitored by the accompanying guide while riding. We arrive at our riverside cabin on the banks of the Whanganui River where we relax, have a swim and explore.

Your guides will begin to prepare dinner and late afternoon nibbles are served with a few drinks. A hangi dinner is served. Accommodation and bedding is provided.

You will wake to a large outdoor breakfast as we ready for a challenging day of riding. Your guides instruct you on safe river-crossing technique, as we wade through a section of the Whanganui, climb a section of bush with our bikes in tow and arrive mid-way on one of the best rides in the country; the 42-Traverse.

After the ride, we meet our shuttle driver and depending on our group?s ability, engage on other fantastic rides nearby, explore a bit of the area and return to Taupo and Rotorua at the day?s end.
