Description

We collect you from your accommodation in Rotorua and take you to the Whakarewarewa Redwoods Forest; New Zealand's premiere area for mountain biking. You are fitted with suspension bikes, protective helmets and a complimentary water bottle and snack pack.

We begin with an easy, rolling track to judge the group's ability. We continue with a fantastic selection of rides tailored to your experience and skills level, through redwood and pine forests, geothermal sites and native bush tracks.

We meet back at the vehicle for a gourmet picnic lunch, or side-trip to a local café (dependant upon weather). Early afternoon finds us riding once again in this world-class terrain. When we can pedal no more, we pack up the bikes and travel to the infamous Skyline Skyrides. Enjoy a leisurely gondola to the top of Mt. Ngongotaha with exceptional views of Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. Choose a gentle luge ride on the scenic track, or keep up the pace with their fastest, most-thrilling downhill sled track!

Enjoy afternoon tea before returning to Rotorua for a soothing soak and hot showers at the Polynesian Spa & Pools.

Our next stop is the Mitai Cultural Experience, a genuine glimpse into Maori culture, where you can view traditional song & dance and interesting facts and customs. You will also be treated to a traditional hangi dinner. Final evening activities include a short, nocturnal walk through native bush and glow worm trails, ending in a mystical finale at tribal springs.

We return you to your accommodation or connecting transport.

Session Details

We are open all year, subject to availability. Please book well in advance. Please allow a full day for this experience. Your day will start before 9.30am and finish at approximately 9.30pm.

Experience Participants

This experience requires a minimum of 2 people. We provide 1 experienced guide for every 6 people. We are able to service groups of up to 25 people upon request. Most trips average 4 people plus your guide.

Participant Guidelines

We operate with a minimum of 2 people. You must be able to ride a bike, and have good general fitness. Please tell us your height and weight when making a booking, as we custom bikes to suit the rider. Asthmatics are reminded to bring their inhaler on the experience.

Participant Dress Code

We recommend a T-shirt / singlet, long-sleeve thermal shirt, light weight wind/rain jacket, shorts, socks & running shoes, swimsuit for the spa and a change of clothes. Optional: Hydration Camelback, eye wear (clear or light-tint glasses for mud).

Other Information

Once a booking is made, you will need to fill out a client release form. These are available online or via post. These may be returned either by fax, post or handed in on the day prior to the activity. You must be over 8 years of age.
