Gourmet Retreat Two Days For Eight - Food & Beverage TastingThis exclusive two day and two night gourmet experience will take you on a journey of the fantastic wines and food on offer in Hawke’s Bay. Taste the delightful food from local roadside stalls and epicurean suppliers in preparation for your evening culinary class with Chef Jenny Parton.

Day 1: Napier (Hawke's Bay)
Vineyard Tour
We start the day at 10am with a tour to local wineries in the Havelock area. We take time to visit the Craggy Range Cellar door at their Giants winery in the Tuki Tuki Valley. This winery is consistently producing fantastic Bordeaux reds, and Syrah’s from the Gimblet Gravel appellation in Hawke’s Bay. Craggy also have great silky Pinots from Martinborough and lively fresh Sauvignons and Rieslings from Marlborough. Then its lunch time!

This afternoon we will visit 3 to 4 wineries. Meet Kingsley Tobin of Kingsley Estate renowned for Bordeaux style Gimblett Gravel wines. Kingsley uses organic methods to form the basis of an overall quality focus. Low yields and hand harvesting also contribute to the intensity of his wines. Discover the secrets of the Gimblet Gravels with John and Rosemary O'Connor owners of the Matariki Winery. Finally we visit Trinity Hill famous for Chardonnay and Bordeaux blends. This winery is at the forefront of experimenting with new varietals such as Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.

Evening dinner tonight will be at Terroir Craggy Range

Day 2: Napier (Hawke's Bay)
Culinary Class and free time

This morning we take time to visit local markets and epicurean suppliers gathering and tasting some of the ingredients needed for our evening culinary class with local Executive Chef Jenny Parton. You have free time at midday to explore. At 5pm we start our culinary class with Jenny culminating into a four course evening meal to remember.

Jenny studied culinary arts at the prestigious Westminster College. Jenny was selected to represent New Zealand at the World Gourmet Summit in Singapore, 2003. Jenny has also prepared dishes for many celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, Cliff Richard, The Beach Boys, Lulu, Madonna, Joan Collins, Whitney Houston, and many more.
