Ever wanted to learn how to make beautiful pottery and ceramics? Then this beginner's course could be just the thing. For two full days you will learn the techniques that master potters have used for centuries. Develop your creativity and display your handiwork!

Description

This pottery course is designed to give an exciting and condensed overview of the process of making pottery. From a lump of clay on the morning of day one, you will leave at the end of day two with your own works in your hands - glazed and fired. Completely finished!

The course starts at 9.00am each day.
Day one is spent learning three different and basic hand building techniques then producing small works by putting these techniques into practice.

Day two is spent glazing and firing the work made on day one. Near the end of day two with all work fired and with everyone glowing with satisfaction we sip wine, compare notes and evaluate the results.

Lunch is provided each day and tea and coffee are available throughout the day.

Session Details

This is a full two day course that runs from 9am. This course is generally available most days of the week, subject to availability. Bookings should be made at least 3 weeks in advance.

Experience Participants

Courses are run with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people.

Participant Guidelines

Our courses are designed for adults. However, children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Lunch is included each day.

Participant Dress Code

It is recommended that you bring an old shirt to wear to protect your clothes. An old hand towel is also handy. Strong flat-heeled shoes are a must. Please remove all rings with stones set in them as the clay can dislodge the stones.
