We offer kayak tours around the amazing volcanic coastline in and around the Hahei marine reserve. So, why not come along and be at one with nature!

Description

Firstly, we give you a brief introduction to the kayak tour before we get on the water. Now the fun starts& Paddle around spectacular volcanic islands, explore amazing sea caves and enjoy one of the world famous cappuccinos at the exclusive cathedral cove caf?. Our trips cover the most spectacular stretch of coast on the Coromandel Peninsula and our experienced guides give full commentary during your experience.

Watch the amazing natural wildlife swim by your kayak. Stingrays are often seen on calm days at Sting Ray Bay, seals laze on the islands in winter and for the very lucky, we are sometimes fortunate enough to paddle with the dolphins. During the summer months, you also have the opportunity to snorkel in the marine reserve.

The islands and coast south of Hahei are dotted with amazing sea caves, there are more than two dozen and all are different. When conditions allow, you have the option of venturing deep inside the majestic sea caves, paddling the tunnel at Pa Point and maybe having a quick snack-stop inside the mighty blowhole.

Session Details

Tours run daily September to May. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. Other times are available on demand. Tours are approximately 3 to 3.5 hours in length.

Experience Participants

Group sizes vary. We generally operate to a maximum of eight people per group - however larger group sizes of up to twenty-four are possible upon request.

Participant Guidelines

Modern double sea kayaks are used. These are easy to paddle and are very stable. A reasonable level of fitness is required. No experience is necessary.

Participant Dress Code

Dress for the weather conditions. In summer, we recommend wearing shorts and a t-shirt and bringing swimming costumes, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring a warm top & towel, your camera to catch those memorable moments and a bottle of water. Warmer clothes may be required in the cooler months.
