There is only one place on the planet where you can swim with Hector's or New Zealand's Dolphin and that is the beautiful sheltered Akaroa Harbour. Take to the water on a jet-powered catamaran for ultimate safety. All equipment is provided.

Description

Akaroa Harbour is the only place on the planet where you can swim with the world's smallest and rarest Dolphins - the Hector's or New Zealand Dolphin. Akaroa is a delightful scenic township about 90 minutes drive from Christchurch.

The Hector's Dolphins frequent the sheltered harbour all year round. Take to the water in a jet-powered catamaran for ultimate safety for you and the dolphins. Everything is provided including wetsuits, masks, snorkels, hot showers, hot chocolate and a free gift pack.

Our passengers have been enjoying a 95% success rate of seeing dolphins and a 90% success rate of swimming with them.
If we do not spot any dolphins we will provide a full refund (at the discretion of the captain).

3 hours. You will be swimming with the dolphins for approximately 45 minutes.

Experience Participants

Up to 10 swimmers per trip.

Participant Guidelines

Customers should be reasonable confident swimmers however a wetsuit is provided so there is a flotation. Swimming is recommended for ages 10 and above.

Participant Dress Code

Bring swimming costume, towel, we will provide wetsuit, snorkel, mask and where appropriate hood, gloves and booties.

Cruises depart every day all year with a limited Christmas Day schedule.
